One day, a few years back, I needed a change and a vision. I thought…
What can I do differently but stay my true self? How about street style photography?
Do you know Hel-looks? It was one of my biggest inspiration, my window to the world of fashion. It started in 2005 and was my favourite place on the internet back then. And you most certainly know The Sartorialist. Scott made me believe that this could even be a job.
Yeah, that’s something I could enjoy doing.
The trip I took to London gave me many possibilities to express myself in new ways. A humble idea led to a huge commitment of photographing London street style for VERS-24 mag. I went berserk and shot everything that was moving, brought around 2000 pictures home. Conclusions are: it’s hard work, my feet hurt from all the walking around, you have to be fast and focused, have eyes around your head or you’ll have nothing. I’ve got better every day, but there’s still a lot to learn.
Here’s how I lost my virginity with street style photography.
Beside lovely fashionistas I had the great luck to get the big shots like Alexa Chung, Olivia Palermo, Lucinda Chambers, Donna Wallace, Yasmin Sewell, Betty Bachz and more!
